2012 Blair, Bohlé and Whitsitt Accounting Scholarship Winner Announced

Lorena Contreras-Hall, a Masters Degree candidate who emigrated from San Cristobel, Venezuela, is the recipient of the 2012 Blair, Bohlé and Whitsitt UNC Charlotte Accounting Scholarship. For the fourth consecutive year, the firm has funded the scholarship for a junior or senior undergraduate or graduate student who excels academically in the UNCC accounting department. The scholarship was presented to Ms Contreras-Hall by the firm’s Managing Partner, John Blair, at the UNC Charlotte Department of Accounting Scholarship Banquet on Monday, April 16, 2012.

Lorena currently resides in Gastonia, NC and plans to pursue a career in public accounting following graduation.  Her long term goal is to join a CPA firm where she can excel professionally in the tax field and establish a strong work-life balance.  In addition to maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average, Ms. Contreras-Hall is well traveled and particularly enjoys the food and culture of the Caribbean islands.
